Google's "Street View"

Google has launched what they call "Street View." What it does is it allows users to see an interactive 3D image of the street which is pretty cool but it's in too early of a stage to be useful. since it is currently only available for certain areas. With that all said, I am a little disappointed that this is not a live view of the actual street. I guess that's not supposed to be the point?

I read your disapointment. I sorry to say that you're going to be disapointed for quite some time. You see, it's going to be a long time before we have the ability to produce "live" images of any area, just in the U.S. The cities will be the first to have the ability to produce the live images. Think about it. You would have to have an almost infinite amount of cameras or a satellite devoted to that part of earth to give you live images. We'd have to be more watched over than London is currently.

Thanks for your comment Jordan. I completely agree with you. I think my disappointment largely derives from my inner child that's still full of fantasies and fairy tales. However, you must admit that it would be pretty cool if Google SV really did give live views. Of course, we would then be faced with privacy issues. ;)
